She hasn't caught a pokemon in what feels like ages.[break][break]
It's not like she needs to collect more, really. But she has the time and she has the resources, so why not? Maybe Luka just wants some cute little babies to heal the hole in her gaping heart...maybe that's valid.[break][break]

There's a rustle in the bushes behind Luka.[break][break]

Crystalbloom blossoms bob and weave in the autumn breeze, but it's not just the air that makes their leaves tremble. Luka turns and squints into the foliage, eyes narrowed...[break][break]

And another pair of eyes stares back.[break][break]

She startles for a moment, breathing heavy. But then she laughs under her breath and crouches down, digging into her bag for a pecha berry to offer.[break][break]

Slowly, a Purrloin sticks his face out of the bush. Then a delicate paw, dusted in dark blue, extends to snatch the berry away.[break][break]

She leaves a trail like breadcrumbs and eventually, without much coaxing, the little cat follows her as she wanders the rest of the safari zone.

Luka decides to simply follow the flowers as she walks. Her Purrloin companion has curled around her shoulders in the meantime, draped over them like a living, breathing muffler. It's a bit uncomfortable, but she doesn't complain.[break][break]

Glittering blossoms in various shades of blue wink up at her as they pass. Vaguely, Luka wonders if they're leading her anywhere, but shrugs the feeling off. After all, this is the safari zone. If there are any mysteries to be found, one of the other hundred trainers that traverse these paths would have discovered them by now.[break][break]

She, however, isn't the only one to notice the sparkling flowers. A Murkrow, attracted to anything shiny, is angrily tugging at one of the crystalblooms ahead of them. Luka laughs softly and watches for a moment, but soon takes pity on the poor bird's plight.[break][break]

A few blossoms are carefully picked and she holds them out, beckoning with an easy smile and a little wave. And the Murkrow, attracted to either the blooms in hand or her dazzling smile, flies over in a flurry of fuchsia feathers and settles right on her head, much to the Purrloin's chagrin.[break][break]

It's harder to walk now...but they're both so cute that Luka can't bear to disturb either Pokemon. And so she continues to trek onwards, with two loveable babies weighing her down.

"Okay, okay. Let's take a little break!"[break][break]

With two pokemon clinging to her, it hadn't taken Luka long to tire. After just a quarter hour her neck is starting to ache, and she sighs a little when she plops down on a tall tree stump. Carefully, she removes Purrloin from her shoulders and Murkrow from her head, allowing the two to cuddle up in her lap, should they wish.[break][break]

She spends a while simply resting here, staring up at the trees and watching the day grow between their leaves. In fact, she's so still and silent that a passing Fennekin doesn't even notice her until she shifts slightly on the stump.[break][break]

The little fox startles, and starts to run, but Luka's new Purrloin leaps off her lap and corrals the poor thing. At first Luka starts to protest; she doesn't want a fight! But the meows and yips between the two pokemon start to sound like banter, and it's clear they're already friends.[break][break]

Well, the more the merrier! Purrloin practically drags his friend back over by the scruff of her neck, laying limp like a scarecrow with it's pole snapped, and Luka is more than happy to offer her lap and a few gentle pets to the little baby.

Their break passes peacefully. As the day wears on, Luka can hear the sound of late season insects whirring, of birds calling in the distance. The sun adopts a deeper golden hue, and eventually she decides it's time to keep moving.[break][break]

"Okay, cuties!" she chirps, springing down onto the soft grass. "It's getting late! We don't want to be stuck here overnight, right?"[break][break]

There are a few sounds of protest, but eventually their little ragtag group gets moving again. Luka hums as they begin the walk back to the safari's entrance, carrying her new Fennekin buddy this time around. Though Purrloin and Murkrow look on enviously, they don't complain. After all, they've already had their turn!

There's a rustling in the grass, the chittering of insect legs around them as Luka's team heads towards the entrance of the safari.[break][break]

Brr...ack, it's creepy! Luka tries not to reflect on it long though, and hurries ahead with her group in tow. This lil cotton candy spider will be free to get captured by someone who's not quite so arachnophobic!

Their path towards the exit meets with one last obstacle.[break][break]

At least this one is adorable![break][break]

Luka's careful when she approaches the Hatenna, however. These guys are like...professional vibe checkers, right? It's a good thing her Poipole isn't around right now...Jam's vibes can be downright awful sometimes.[break][break]

She'd like to think that she's just positive and peppy enough to please the Pokemon, though she has some doubts. Things haven't been the easiest for her lately, and her mindset certainly reflects as such. But Luka decides to shred pretense and approach the pokemon honestly, exactly the way she is.[break][break]

For a moment, as the Hatenna sizes her up, Luka assumes the worst. So she's surprised when the pokemon lets out a coo and bounds to her side. Trepidation is replaced by affection— perhaps Hatenna appreciates her sincerity? Can see through facades and into the goodness of her heart? Whatever it is, Luka's extremely grateful. And with her cute babies in tow, she finally leaves the safari.
